WEDA HOMEGROWN INITIATIVES
Have you ever wondered what an “Economic Development Authority” or EDA is? An EDA is an agency whose goal is to help develop and support economic growth within a specified city, region or state by providing necessary resources and assistance. In each community, growth initiatives may look very different to support individual community needs.
WEDA serves as a department of the City of Windom dedicated to local hometown economic growth. Our initiatives are homegrown and centered around community needs and engagement. Specific identified community needs may become a part of WEDA’s annual strategic plan. Overall, our initiatives focus on 5 broad development areas:
GROW IN WINDOM
Windom connects growing manufacturers and agricultural businesses to Midwest consumers, suppliers, and markets via world-class fiber optics, direct transportation routes, and ready access to technology. Citizen engagement is important to WinEDA. Our new e-newsletters are intended to keep citizens and business owners informed about WinEDA’s initiatives and progress. The WinEDA Board meets monthly on the 2nd Monday of each month at 12pm. These meetings are open to the public. Agendas and meetings are available to the public.
